The Nissan OE radiator caps have a rating of 0.9kg/cm (12.6lbs) for non-turbo vehicles and 1.2kg/cm (16.8lbs) for turbo vehicles. However, the Nismo caps have a higher rating of 1.3kg/cm (18.2lbs).

They are suitable for all Nissans made from 1984, providing improved cooling system pressure and lowering the boiling point by 8.7 degrees when set at 1.3 bar. This is particularly beneficial in the summer months, as it allows for the use of distilled water or a reduced antifreeze ratio without the risk of boiling over.

For cars that are used for track racing, such as road races, this inexpensive upgrade greatly improves the efficiency of the cooling system when combined with distilled water and water wetter or a reduced antifreeze ratio.
