Standard OEM Block: This is the factory-spec block used in the majority of production Skyline GT-Rs. It is distinct from the "24U" N1 block, which was designed for endurance racing and features thicker cylinder walls.
Performance Potential: Despite being the "standard" block, the 05U is famous for its durability. It is widely considered reliable for builds up to 600–650 wheel horsepower (whp) in road-race configurations, and even higher (800+ whp) for street or drag applications, though sonic testing of the cylinder walls is often recommended for high-power builds.
Bare Block Assembly: It typically ships as a "bare" block, meaning it includes the main caps and the block itself but requires the rotating assembly (crankshaft, pistons, rods), oil pan, and cylinder head to be completed
